Eco-Market in Las Chinas Returns with Renewed Energy

After a year of waiting, the eco-market has reopened on the first Saturday of every month. The market takes place in Las Chinas, a village in Galaroza (Huelva), and it's a great place to find local products grown near the Múrtiga river.

We visited the market on Saturday, February 1st, and it was great to see the market back in full swing. It was a beautiful day, perfect for enjoying the outdoor setting and catching up with friends. There was even a rock music performance to make the morning more enjoyable.

While we were a bit disappointed that there were not that many food stalls – specially the artisan bread –, we were informed that it was the market’s first day after its reopening and that it's expected to grow in the coming weeks.

Besides food, you can also find natural soaps, local beers and crafts. We especially loved the Esencia Rústica soap stand. The products were well-priced and beautifully presented, and the artisan was really kind. We will definitely be back for more.

For a healthy food option, we tried the Ancalaguela Food Truck, which offered tasty options such as toast with guacamole, and a chickpea stew for 5 euros each. We went for the chickpea stew, which was quite good but too small a portion for us, even though we are not big eaters.

The setting is amazing with the surrounding orchards in the background. However, it is important to know that you must go by car and that it can be very difficult to find a parking spot after 11:00.

We paired it with a sweet wine and grape juice that would have been even better with an ice cube, but we still enjoyed them while sitting on the grass.

In conclusion, we had a lovely morning and would be delighted to come back, hoping that even more vendors join the Saturday celebration
